On Wednesday, December 7th, the third wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe arrives on the Nintendo Switch. The first two waves were released throughout the year 2022 and featured the return of old tracks such as the Coco Supermarket and the Toad Circuit. For this new DLC, players will once again be able to discover 8 remastered tracks or tracks from other Mario Kart games. Here is the complete list of what awaits you starting this Wednesday.
The added circuits in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in detail
Unlike the second wave, which introduced a new circuit (the Sorbet Circuit), Nintendo exclusively went back to old courses from other Mario Kart games for this DLC. We have the Detour in London circuit and the Berlin Stroll circuit, both coming from the mobile version of the game, Mario Kart Tour. Wii players can once again race on the track of the Crimson Wood. The second wave did not include any tracks from Mario Kart 7. Now, with this third DLC release, the Wrecked Mountain and the famous Rainbow Road make their return. Nintendo also drew from handheld consoles such as the Game Boy Advance and the Nintendo DS. Mario Kart enthusiasts can once again race on the Boo Lake and the Peach Garden.
Recap of the circuits:
Stone Cup
- Detour in London (Mario Kart Tour);
- Boo Lake (Game Boy Advance);
- Wrecked Mountain (Mario Kart 7);
- Crimson Wood (Wii).
Moon Cup
- Berlin Stroll (Mario Kart Tour);
- Peach Garden (Nintendo DS);
- Festive Mountain (Mario Kart Tour);
- Rainbow Road (Mario Kart 7).

What about the next DLC?
In total, there are 48 additional courses planned. They are released in packs of 8, so Nintendo still has 3 packs to release. In the year 2022, 24 tracks were added to the catalog. The next 24 tracks will be released throughout the year 2023. The release dates for the next 3 waves have not been announced yet, but we will keep you informed as soon as we know more.
